WEEK 11 CHAMP

WEEK 11 SUCKER
🤪 NESS
Your complaints have guiltily persuaded me to write another article. (I’m nothing if not a people-pleaser…but that’s a topic for me and my therapist.)
Let’s move along! This is the perfect week to write one because I get to see my name listed as the champ, so enjoy, my little sugarplums.💋
With injured players returning, post-trade doubts (or regrets) sneaking in, and suspensions shaking things up, let’s dive into the burning questions that everyone (or maybe just me) is asking. And, of course, sprinkle in a little trash talk because what’s fantasy hoops without it?
Paolo Banchero is BACK, baby!
After sitting out for over two months, Orlando’s star forward has returned. muad’Dib gets to rack in some stacked lines—remember, the guy was averaging 29 ppg before the injury. But what happens to the rest of Orlando’s squad?
Franz Wagner is still out (much to GetSome’s dismay, I’m sure). Jalen Suggs should still put up strong numbers (if his lower back strain doesn’t betray him), but beyond that, it’s a bit of a toss-up. Too Hot For Kool Aid snagged some of Goga Bitadze’s stats and enjoyed the feast, but how quickly will his value sink? Will Paolo’s return relegate KCP to irrelevance? And poor Tristan da Silva—does he even get to stay on the court, or does his 32.9 mpg over the last 10 games get slashed asap?
Too Hot For Kool Aid gave up Orlando’s new king for a big man with a higher injury risk than a glass slipper at a rock concert. Meanwhile, muad’Dib took a calculated risk, and now he’s sitting pretty in second with a top player coming in from the wings. Who won the trade? Ahh!
muad’Dib, let’s see if Paolo’s return is as sweet as you think it’ll be. Too Hot For Kool Aid’s starting to feel a lil bit greeeen.
Let’s Talk About Zion Williamson
Sure, he came back last week and gave us a jaw-dropping 360 windmill dunk that had everyone running to replay clips on social media. But before we get too hyped, let’s look at the whole picture here, and spoiler alert: it’s lacklustre.
The G O O D
Zion was electric in his return, dropping 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting, with 6 boards, 4 assists, 3 steals, and a block—all in just 28 minutes. But, as always with Zion, I wonder if the word “potential” does a lot of heavy lifting here.
The B A D
After missing 27 games, Zion finally gets the green light to play again, and what does he do? Shows up late to a team FLIGHT and gets suspended. Not exactly the hero’s return. Add to that whispers of unhappiness in New Orleans (Stephen A. knows all the goss lol) and his perpetually fragile health, and who knows what’s in store here.
The U G L Y
The Pelicans aren’t exactly fighting for a playoff spot—they’re sitting last in the West, a whopping 13 games behind the 10th-seed Suns. So here’s the question: what are the Pelicans going to do with Zion? Do they let him run wild and rack up stats for fantasy managers like Mary Gets Bucketzz, or do they shut him down later in the season to preserve their franchise cornerstone for the long haul? And let’s not even get into whether Zion can actually stay healthy for the rest of the season—it’s like flipping a coin and praying it doesn’t land on the side labelled “injured again.”
Mary Gets Bucketzz, you’ve got yourself one of the most boom-or-bust players in the league. For the rest of us? We get to snack on some popcorn with our fingers crossed that he doesn’t get hot when playing against us.
Hot Potato with Jimmy Buckets
What Happens When Jimmy Butler’s Suspension Ends?
Both Jaime Jaquez and Nikola Jovic have been balling out in his absence, but Butler is expected back on Jan. 17. GetSome snagged Jimmy off waivers for $30 after Mary Gets Bucketzz dropped him like a bad habit last week. Bold move.
GetSome, are you banking on Butler coming back with vengeance, or was this a $30 flex that’ll fizzle? And Mary Gets Bucketzz, why’d you cut Jimmy loose? Are you playing 4D chess? Did GetSome get a steal?
What About Your Own Moves?
How do each of you feel about the decisions you’ve made this season? Any regrets? Because I’ll be the first to admit—I HAVE SOME. (FML, why did I drop Kessler fmlfmllll.) (No, I’m not bitter. Not at all.)
But that’s the beauty of this league, right? We make bold moves, live with the consequences, and hope for the best. And no matter what, we’re all glued to the standings, watching for someone to stumble so the trash talk can start flying. Speaking of which…
Quick Recap
Too Hot For Kool-Aid, Mary Gets Bucketzz, I Got A Harden, and muad’Dib had BIG WEEKS. All of them won 6 timely categories each.
The Contenders: I Got A Harden and muad’Dib are neck-and-neck for second place, so this week will be the one to watch!
The Wild Cards: GetSome and Mary Gets Bucketzz have the potential to disrupt the standings if they can capitalize on their stars’ returns. But time is running out, and they’ll need to make sure each move they make inches them forward. (Mary Gets Bucketzz is currently in fifth, only three category wins behind GetSome.)
The Hopefuls: Flat Earthers, Chloë’s Champion Team – Y’all are too good to tank. I hope to see some tinkering this week, some smart pick-ups, and maybe even a trade offer? Put something on the table for us, hehe.
Rankings Don’t Mean Everything But…
The Consistent One: Lowryour Expectations. I have no new words atm. But I do have this table for you:

Week 12 will be critical for the mid-tier teams to prove they can hang with the big dogs. Will the bottom teams lock in their fate? Will Too Hot For Kool Aid be able to keep the crown for a little longer? Will someone shock us all with a Cinderella run? Has Lowryour Expectations truly given up? Should they even be allowed in the league? Hehehe 🤫
One thing’s for sure: rankings may not mean everything, but winning does. So let’s see who steps up in Week 12 and who continues to embarrass themselves.
Love ya!
